The Study of Treatment And Reproductive Outcomes (STAR) seeks to answer questions related to the effects of HIV infection and HIV-related medical conditions on women of reproductive age.

The Study of Treatment And Reproductive Outcomes (STAR) Women of reproductive age are uniquely affected by the HIV epidemic. In the U.S., nearly one quarter of the 1.1 million people living with HIV are women, and most are living in the Southern U.S. Women living with HIV commonly face unplanned pregnancies and negative pregnancy outcomes, so it’s critical for us to understand the effects of HIV and reproductive outcomes in women to develop future strategies to improve health!
